Colorful Gifu butterflies rest on yamazakura cherry blossoms at Nawa Insect Museum in Gifu, on Tuesday, March 2. Three out of some 150 Gifu butterflies emerged from their pupae at the museum on Tuesday, 10 days later than last year. The Gifu butterfly is dubbed the "Spring Goddess." (Mainichi)
