4 million yen found in shoe containers sold at school bazaar
KASHIHARA, Nara -- A total of 4 million yen has been found in two shoe containers that two women bought at a school bazaar here last month, police said.
The two women separately bought one shoe container each for 10 yen at the annual bazaar held at Kashihara Municipal Unebi Junior High School on Sept. 12, and took them home.
They found two 1 million yen bundles of cash in each of the containers and handed over the money to local police.
The school has distributed leaflets to the parents of students to look for the person who sold them at the bazaar, but failed to immediately identify the person.
"I was amazed. I hope the person who sold them will be found soon," Principal Hideaki Minami said.
